This notice explains how the ArborLynx website handles information from visitors and people interested in beta testing. Questions about this notice or requests concerning your information can be sent through our contact page.
Information you choose to provide
If you contact us or apply to be a beta tester, we receive the information you enter into the form, such as your name, email address and responses. We use it to reply to you, evaluate beta-testing interest and coordinate participation. Submitting a beta application does not subscribe you to promotional emails. Please do not send family trees, details about living people, passwords, DNA files or private documents through these forms.
Cookies and technical information
WordPress and our hosting infrastructure may use technically necessary cookies and process connection information to operate and secure the site. The website may also load resources from service providers; their handling of information is governed by their own policies.
Service providers and location
We use WordPress and Bluehost for the website, WPForms and email services to transmit submitted forms. Service providers may process information outside Québec or your country of residence.
Retention and your requests
We keep correspondence and beta applications for their communication and recruitment purposes, subject to review and applicable obligations. You may contact us to ask about, correct or request deletion of information you submitted, or to withdraw from beta recruitment. We will review these requests and respond as appropriate. Website infrastructure and email services may maintain separate operational records or backups.
Changes
We will update this notice when our website practices materially change. This notice concerns the public website, not genealogical data stored in the ArborLynx desktop application.
