What will I do?
Install and explore
Use a simple guide to install a specific test build and open a sample Forest.
Try research tasks
Work with people, families, events, sources, and other available features.
Share feedback
Tell us what fails or feels confusing. No technical expertise is needed.
Retest selected fixes
When requested, check whether a revised build resolves a reported problem.
Proposed commitment: about 2–3 hours total across an initial 4–6-week cycle. Participation is voluntary and flexible; invitations will confirm the final tasks and timing.
Who should apply?
Québec, French-Canadian, Acadian, and other genealogy researchers of all experience levels. We need French- and English-speaking testers. Access to a Windows computer is necessary for hands-on testing, but programming and database knowledge are not.
What should I expect?
If selected, you will receive a specific build, instructions, disposable sample data, known limitations, and a simple feedback method. The software is unfinished; some features may be unavailable or defective. The first groups will be small so we can respond to reports.
Protect your research: Early testers should use provided sample data. Do not import your only copy of a personal GEDCOM or use a beta build as your primary archive. Real-data testing will require separate instructions and safeguards.
Registration is an expression of interest. We’ll contact selected participants as testing opportunities become available. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.

Answer a few questions so we can assemble a balanced group. Please do not upload family trees, information about living people, DNA files, passwords, or private documents.
Privacy notice: We collect your name, email address, and application answers solely to evaluate and contact potential beta testers. This does not subscribe you to promotional emails. Our website and email providers process submissions and may process information outside Québec. Only people coordinating the program should access applications; information will be kept only as needed for recruitment. To withdraw, request access, correction, or deletion, use our contact form. No private genealogy records are requested.
